MAHIMA NATIONAL UNITY PONGGAL FESTIVAL 2025
On 19th January 2025, the Pongal Celebration at Batu Caves showcased a vibrant display of togetherness and cultural pride. Organized by MAHIMA and Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Dhevasthanam, the event featured traditional Tamil art forms, including music, dance, and cultural games, creating an atmosphere of unity and joy.
Around 200 temple representatives under MAHIMA participated, and RM50,000 in development funds was distributed to 10 temples. Highlights included the iconic Pongal preparation, traditional village dances, and popular games like the greased pole climb, captivating attendees.
This celebration emphasized the importance of temples as cultural hubs, preserving and promoting Indian traditions while fostering unity across the community.
