Welcome to Mahima

The Malaysia Council of Hindu Temples and Hindu Associations (MAHIMA) works to protect and promote Hinduism in Malaysia. It brings together Hindu temples and groups to help support the religious and cultural rights of the Hindu community. MAHIMA also works with the government and other organizations to create better understanding and peace between different communities. Its goal is to help temples grow, run smoothly, and provide services that benefit the community.

• To offer itself as an instrument or agency to the affiliated Temples and Hindu religious organisation in Malaysia whereby they can do everything together;
• To protect the interests of the affiliated organisation and their members;
• To endeavour to assist financially or otherwise all or any of the members;
• The assist any member in obtaining any legal advice;
• To promote material, social, literary, cultural and educational activities and to organise such competitions, shows and such related activities amongst the affiliates;
• To act as the co-ordinating and controlling body of the affiliate;
• To provide an agency through which Governments in Malaysia both Central and State, may consult with the members on matters of common concern to all members of the Council;
• To maintain relationship with other registered religious bodies organisations as the Council may think fit;
• To affiliate to or subscribe to or assist any other registered organisation having objects similar to those of the Council.
